- The Applications work for the most part but on occasion, I am getting Mac 'Re-Starts'. The problem is not on the macOS Big Sur side, since it NEVER 'Re-Starts' when Parallels is not running. I have the following installed. MacOS Big Sur (v11.0.1) Parallels Desktop 16 for Mac (v16.1.1 - 49141).
- Restart your Mac again. Of course, you’re only reading this if your Mac has already powered itself off. But an unexpected shutdown is not the same as a proper one. Correctly powering off your Mac, from the Apple menu, allows all the process and programs running in the background to close safely, reducing the risk of further issues.
- 1) In the Apple menu choose Restart, or power on your Mac. 2) As your Mac restarts, hold down the Command – R combination immediately upon hearing the startup chime. Hold the keys until the Apple logo appears. If you own a Mac notebook, press the keys on its built-in keyboard as the keystroke might not register on external keyboards.
- MacBook occasionally restarts on its own. If my Mac starts doing this, I simply boot into Windows 7 on my Boot Camp partition, use it for up to a week, then.

Mac Mini Restarts On Its Own
Hi,
So I just bought a nearly unused 15' Macbook Pro (Late 2010: Dual 2.8Ghz Core i7, 8GB of RAM, HR-Antiglare display).
I absolutely love this thing, but after a few hours of casual use I experienced a 'random restart'. Basically it looked like a kernel panic only instead of asking to 'hold down the power button' it restarted on its own, and after rebooting gave me a message about an 'unexpected restart'.
I know this could be a plethora of different things, but any ideas on what might be the cause? Thanks in advance.
